Truckers, if you own a heavy motor truck that weight 55,000 pounds of taxable gross weight then that is a taxable vehicle under Federal Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax using IRS Tax Form 2290. This Form 2290 must be paid between a July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 that is the Tax Period. The vehicle owners, owner operators and carriers have to report and pay this HVUT returns between July 1, 2020 to August 31, 2020 for the whole year in full. The vehicle first used month starts from July 2020. If you have not used your vehicle in July 2020, you can report and pay this 2290 Pro Rated or Partial Period considering the First Month of Use after July.
